Buddha and Darwin: Evolution's Downsides and Meditation's Response

Charlie Fisher was a Professor of Sociology at Brandeis University for 30 years where he taught environmental history and meditation. He has a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of California at Berkeley, has taught indigenous youth natural history, spent time in the wilderness, lived in ashrams and was associated with the Insight Meditation Society for many years. His book "Dismantling Discontent: Buddha's Way Through Darwin's World," was published last fall. He is currently working on a book entitled, "Meditation in the Wilds: Recluses, Hermits and Forest Monks."
