Tipitaka Network Bulletin Board (Beta) |
Posted on Monday, December 15, 2008 Video presentation (Missouri) by Yong Peng (ypong001(a)yahoo.com) [AUS:IP logged] At 7 p.m. December 16 (Tuesday), Webster University will present a free screening of "The Dhamma Brothers," a documentary about a unique rehabilitation program at an Alabama prison. Inmates are taught a rigorous form of Buddhist meditation called vipassana, which initially requires them to be silent for 10 days. Graduates of the program describe the forced introspection as the most frightening yet liberating experience of their lives. After the free screening, Sister Jean Aubuchon of the group Alternatives with Education will describe mediation and anger-management programs at Missouri prisons. For more info, call 314-968-7487.
