Nobel Peace Prize nominee Sulak Sivaraksa and Hawaiian practitioner and educator Manulani Aluli Meyer in a dialogue of our global economics and how it affects us personally, spiritually, and as a community here in Hawai‘i. Sulak Sivaraksa is a prominent Thai intellectual and social critic. He is a scholar, activist, renowned speaker, founder of many organizations, and author of more than a hundred books and monographs in both Thai and English, including The Wisdom of Sustainability: Buddhist Economics for the 21st Century. Manulani Meyer is a professor of education at the University of Hawai‘i, Hilo, specializing in Hawaiian cultural views of intelligence. She is author of Ho'oulu: Our Time of Becoming and her forthcoming book Hawaiian Knowing. This event is supported in part by the Hawai'i Tourism Authority and County of Maui-Office of Economic Development.
