Tsunami warning in Indonesia

A powerful earthquake measuring 7.9 on the Richter scale hit Indonesia in the southern Sumatra area at about 6:10 p.m. local time.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center issued a tsunami warning for wide areas of the region.
