      Root: bhuu, to be.
      Chapter 10
      (ž492) causative base/stem: bhaave, bhaavaya.
[ The causative bases/stems are derived from bhuu + .ne or .naya (the .n is an indicatory letter indicating that the root vowel, where applicable, is lengthened.) ]
(ž441) present participle: bhaaventa, bhaavayanta, bhaavayamaana.
--> Choose bhaavayanta (bhaavaya + nta).

    • Refer to Introduction to Pali (A. K. Warder) Lesson 21 (Page 169)
Declension of present participles in -ant: bhaavayanta ==> bhaavayato (dat./sing.)

    • The following is based on messages from Jim Anderson and Nina van Gorkom.
Bhaavayato is a present participle derived from the causative stem -- bhaavaya. There are several variants of the present participle: bhaaventa, bhaavayanta, bhaavayamaana. The causative present participle stem is bhaavayanta. The final word bhaavayato can be in either dative or genitive case. In the context of this sentence, the dative case (follows te, for you) is implied.

  • uppannaa (pp. of uppajjati) arisen.

  • manaapa (adj.) pleasant, agreeable, pleasing.

  • amanaapaa (adj.) unpleasant, disagreeable, not pleasing.

  • .thassanti (future tense of ti.t.thati) will remain, persist.

[7] Here, na in Pali applies to both pariyaadaaya and .thassanti.
